On September 28th and 29th, the Getafe Polyphonic Choir is organizing the Gospel workshop “Sing Us Gospel.” This workshop is open to anyone interested in choral singing who wishes to actively participate in rehearsals and the final concert, subject to prior registration and available spots.
The workshop will be held at the Getafe Professional Music Conservatory, with a total of 14 instructional hours spread over Saturday and Sunday, both morning and afternoon, according to the following schedule:
– Saturday, September 28th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM / from 3:30 PM to 8:15 PM.
– Sunday, September 29th from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
Upon completing the registration, all participants will receive a private key to access the workshop materials online (sheet music, recordings, etc.) well in advance so they can prepare the selected pieces. Participants are also invited to join the regular rehearsals of the Choir, which will be led by Carlos Díez. The repertoire will consist of songs specially selected for the workshop’s theme, “SING US GOSPEL.”
As the culmination of the workshop, on Sunday, September 29th at 7:00 PM, a concert open to the public will be held at the Getafe Professional Music Conservatory. The registered participants will join the Getafe Polyphonic Choir to perform the repertoire worked on during the workshop.
The workshop will be directed by guest conductor Josu Elberdin Badiola, with whom the choir has worked on previous occasions.
