Burgos hosts one of the most unique choral events on the city’s musical calendar: the 5th Burgos EnCanto Children’s, Youth, and School Choral Encounter. Organized by the Association of Music Teachers, with the collaboration of the Burgos City Council, the Burgos CFIE (Center for Teacher Training and Innovation), the Círculo Burgos Foundation, Musical Luber, and the Orfeón Burgalés (Burgos Choir). Burgos EnCanto is a pioneering project that seeks to promote and disseminate choral singing among children and young people.
After several training sessions in the preceding months, the choir members will come together for rehearsals this coming weekend, culminating in a concert open to the public.
In this grand concert on Sunday, May 10th at 7:00 PM in the Fórum Evolución auditorium, nearly 500 participants from various children’s, youth, and school choirs, both from Burgos and the surrounding province, will thrill the audience in this public showcase. The performance, led by artistic director Josu Elberdin Badiola, will feature other outstanding musicians, including the University of Burgos Orchestra, conducted by Ignacio Nieto, and singer Gemma Sanz.
Furthermore, this event will include the world premiere of the musical tale “The Mouse Said to the Moon,” with a score composed by Javier Centeno Martín based on a text by Antonio García Teijeiro.
