The International Choir Festival „Chernomorski zvutsi” in Balchik, Bulgaria is a true celebration of the song, sea, harmony, beauty and friendship.

13 choirs from 8 countries will take part in the Third International Choir Festival “Chernomorski zvutsi” which will be held from 5th till 9th June 2013.

The festival is organized by the Association „Musical world-Balchik” and Balchik Municipality under the patronage of the Mayor of Balchik Mr. Nikolay Angelov.

This year in the festival will take part 4 children’s choirs, 7 mixed choirs, 1 chamber choir and 1 female choir, with more than 500 singers from Bulgaria, Finland, Greece, Romania, Serbia, Macedonia, Ukraine and Turkey.

They all will compete to win the Grand Prize – the gold-plated statuette „Chernomorski zvutsi” – and will unite in creative teams within the Choral Workshops.

During the choral workshops, all the participants, regardless of their age and nationality, will learn choral works which will be performed at the final concert.

Each year the workshops have a different focus and programme, which provides an opportunity to learn works of contemporary composers from various nationalities. Heads of workshops are the composers themselves – the authors of the submitted pieces of music. The concept of the hosts of the event is to build a cultural bridge between the artists and performers from different countries.

After Veselina Dragolova-Danalilova /Bulgaria/ and Juha Holma /Finland/ this year, in the third edition of the festival Josu Elberdin will lead the workshops for  Contemporary Spanish music”. The members of the choirs will sing „Jubilate Deo“ and „Da pacem, Domine“ and they all will give their contribution to the festival to become a true celebration of vocal art.
