On Friday May 27 will be the choral Day on 44th MUSIKASTE Edition: The Basque Music Week, organized by Eresbil, Basque Composers archive.
This year a tribute is done to the 50 years of Ez dok Amairu, a Basque avant-garde cultural movement between 1966 and 1972, which was dedicated to recovering the Basque culture and renew it. Its members were mostly musicians, and writers, but also had representation in other disciplines. It featured characters like Benito Lertxundi, Jexux Artze, Jorge Oteiza, Jose Angel Irigarai, Jose Anton Artze, Julen Lekuona, Lourdes Iriondo, Mikel Laboa, Néstor Basterretxea or Xabier Lete.
For the Choral day this year have been made choral arrangements of various works of them, updating the message and adapting it to the choral world. We will have arrangements by J. Eguiguren; K. Pastor; J. Busto; F. Ibáñez; X. Sarasola; J. Guerrero; D. Azurza; E. Ugalde; J. Elberdin; I. Gonzalez; K. Uriarte; I. Azurmendi.
Josu Elberdin has made an arrangement on the song Poeta horiek of Xabier Lete.
The choirs will perform works are Navarra Chamber Choir; Bogoroditsie Abesbatza (Durango) Oñatiko Ganbara Abesbatza; Landarbaso Abesbatza (Errenteria)
The concert will be on Friday 27th at 20.00 h in the parish of Fatima, Errenteria, Gipuzkoa.
