The twentieth edition will be held on 17th September, 2022 in Tolosa (Gipuzkoa).
The General Assembly of the United Nations established September 21 as the International Day of Peace. Since many years, a group of NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO, organizes a celebration day that brings together education and public awareness initiatives on peace related issues. Euskal Herria will be the venue for the twentieth edition, in collaboration with the Basque Government, the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, the City Council of Tolosa and TOPIC.
For the occasion they have commissioned Josu Elberdin to compose Zatoz, a work, with texts by Josune López, written on the basis of four languages (Basque, Spanish, English and French). It will premiere during the Day with the piano accompaniment of Jakes Txapartegi and the participation of the Cecilia Espinosa Chamber Choir (Colombia), the Esperanto-Koruso Internancia Choir (Singers from all over the world), the Coro de Jóvenes de Madrid (Madrid) and Euskal Herriko Gazte Abesbatza (Basque Country).
You can enjoy a varied program throughout the day, with workshops, a round table with renowned personalities, a march for peace, and ending with a choral concert at the Leidor.
