The Association of Friends of the Children´s Choir of Tomares is pleased to present the III Course Choral Conducting for Children and Youth Choirs, City of Tomares. The curse be held on 28, 29 and 30 March 2014 in this town of Seville.
After the singular success of previous editions we are preparing to receive a choral conductors, teachers from primary and secondary education, teachers in colleges and conservatories and music students who, under the guidance of renowned composer, conductor and pianist Josu Elberdin that we visit from Pasaia (Basque Country), will live intensive days of learning and enjoy good music with Tomares Children´s Choir and College Entreolivos Choir to perform the functions of course practice choir.
LOCATION: The course will be held in the Hall of City Hall located at Hacienda Santa Ana, Calle de la Fuente No. 10 in Tomares ( Sevilla).
Aspects to be developed during the course:
The course will consist of periods of time dedicated to solving doubts and questions by the teacher concerning the daily activities of the participating students and their choirs. The subjects to develop will be:
-The children’s choir repertoire: searching, analysis, suitability for different groups.
-Technics for rehearsals.
-Strategies to impart the contents of vocal technique and learning repertoire.
-Warming techniques for children’s choir.
-The composition for children’s choir.
In addition, as part of the training, students will attend the rehearsals of Children and Youth Sections of the choirs that will participate in the concert in order to learn the practical application of the theory developed during the course.
The course will conclude with a concert on the IV Meeting of Children´s choirs “Ciudad de Tomares” on Sunday March 30 at 20.00 pm in the Municipal Auditorium of Tomares Rafael de León , Sevilla.
