From February 9th to 14th, the prestigious Saint Angela International Choir Festival will take place in Bandung (Indonesia). Under the theme “Bringing Hearts Together Through Sound,” a week full of activities and competitions for choirs and soloists in various categories will be offered, along with a series of masterclasses, workshops, and studio sessions.
Roni Sugiarto, the Festival’s artistic director, has assembled an international panel of top-tier judges: Joseph Kristanto Pantioso, Aning Katamsi, and Pepita Salim for the soloist competitions, and Darius Lim, Maria Theresa Vizconde Roldan, Ambrož Čopi, Stojan Kuret and Josu Elberdin Badiola for the choral competitions.
Josu Elberdin will participate in a masterclass with the Saint Angela Choir, open to conductors from around the world. He will also lead a workshop with children, premiering the English version of the musical tale “Nica the Marble,” and serve as a judge for both the Choral and Composition Competitions.
At the same festival, they will premiere “Sing Our Heart,” a work written specifically for the occasion, with music by Josu Elberdin and lyrics by Roni Sugiarto.
