The music publisher Armonía Universal has released the musical tale in Galician, O Xogueteiro (The Toymaker). The book tells the story of an old toymaker who lives in the northern lands, amidst mountains and magical foliage, and is known for creating the most wonderful toys in the world. However, when he tries to make something special for himself, his creation breaks, and he embarks on an unforgettable journey in search of a solution. Along the way, he encounters wise druids, cheerful clowns, and a magic rose, each with a lesson to share. This musical tale reminds us that sometimes the answer we seek is closer than we imagine. The original music is by Josu Elberdin, and the translation and adaptation of the songs is by Carmen Calleja Lameiras.
The book is illustrated by Iván Suárez, renowned for his ability to bring children’s stories to life. Iván visually enriches this story, transporting readers to a world of fantasy.
The songs from this story were performed by a choir of 300 children, accompanied by a chamber orchestra and a piano, during the prestigious Ourencanto 2025 festival, one of the most important children’s and youth choral festivals today, directed by Josu Elberdin himself.
