The “Asturian Choral Anthology – Music of the 21st Century for the 21st Century” is an ambitious project aimed at revitalizing and modernizing Asturian folklore through the creation of new choral works adapted to contemporary choirs. Edited by Guillermo Martínez Vega and David Pérez Fernández, the project seeks not only to preserve but also to enrich the Asturian musical heritage.

One of the standout composers in this anthology is Josu Elberdin, who contributed his talent by harmonizing and arranging “Two Asturian Love Songs.” This piece, written for a three-part mixed choir, blends the rich Asturian musical tradition with a modern choral approach, making it accessible to today’s choirs.

The project was made possible thanks to the support of the Asociación Coral Avilesina, which has facilitated the launch of this significant cultural initiative. The release of this anthology is an important step in the promotion of Asturian choral music, allowing both performers and audiences to discover and appreciate this artistic expression.
